I got this book a little while ago for my 6 and 2 year old. They loved it! They were fascinated by the pictures and loved the rhyming. They spent ages pretending to be slugs and my 6 year old loved the online activities.
As a teacher, I recently read it to my junior and senior infants. They were very engaged by the idea of a slug being welcomed into a sleepover. They loved the pictures (especially the jersey) and had great fun predicting what would happen next. I sent them home to practise being cozy slugs! A great read.
Loved it Lovely wee tale of joy. Went down very well when camping with beaver scouts this year.

A unique and beautiful children's book My children (6 year old, 3 year old and 8motnh old) received this book as a gift. You could have heard a pin drop as we read it for the first time. They were all engrossed...the 6 year old loved sharing the reading with me, the 3 year delighted in the rhyming words and they all adored the gorgeous illustrations. We've read the book 5 times today (at the request of the 6 and 3 year olds). Each time, they've spotted new details in the illustrations. The book is great for encouraging children to use their higher order thinking skills, as well as prediction skills. The language used throughout the book makes for wonderful opportunities for developing oral language. I am really looking forward to reading this book with my class of 4 and 5 year olds. It's going to open up lots of learning opportunities!

Beautiful rhyming book with a different slant on teaching children about difference In this beautifully illustrated book we can explore difference in an extremely child-friendly way. We are introduced to Sadie Slug who helps children explore how everybody is different and people have different needs, from physical to dietary differences, and that when these are embraced and when people make little changes to make everyone in a room more comfortable, that this can be an enjoyable experience for all. This book also introduces vocabulary from the various tiers and is both rich in rhyme and vocabulary. Children could be encouraged to ask though provoking questions based on this story, while enjoying the illustrations and guessing the rhyming words. A very rich piece of literacy for 2-7 year olds.
